Footnotes:
[1] In Mass Effect 2, the quarians was last seen in the vicinity of the Valhalla Threshold relay. This story assumes that they have moved to somewhere else.
[2] In-line formation, as opposed to a broadside formation, indicates peaceful intent. The reasoning is that with an in-line formation, ships in the 2nd, 3rd, and following positions do not have line of sight necessary for beam-based weapons.
[3] Just in case you don't get it, "Opa" is Dutch for "grandfather"
[4] See Explanations and Excuses, Chapter 16
[5] See Last Rites, Chapter 11
[6] Although Cerberus is really *not* against fraternizing between opposite genders, this policy is still taken to prevent 'nonconsensual fraternization' from taking place.
[7] According to Mass Effect Wiki entry on salarians, clan name comes before given name. Thus, Mordin is a clan name, while Solus is a given name.
Chapter Exposition
Alright. Based on inputs from my long-suffering betareaders, I think I must tell you some reasonings for this chapter.
Some of you may wonder about the informalities, e.g., why everyone calls everyone else with their first names. Well, it's Cerberus, not the Systems Alliance. Formalities are... formalities.
And if you think Cerberus couldn't build a dreadnought... think again ;-)
Next, the MacArthur. Technically, a ship such as the MacArthur is not a dreadnought. It can be considered a carrier, what with the numerous berths along its sides. However, for the purposes of my story, consider the MacArthur a hybrid of a dreadnought and a carrier. You'll see why in future episodes ;-)

Hello, faithful readers!
Those who already know me, already know also that I usually post Author's Notes for my story on the Mass Effect Wiki (MEwiki). Unfortunately, a recent spate of spam attack against MEwiki renders my blog there ineffective; I can still publish author's notes, but I can no longer receive feedback from you.
Therefore, I need to move the location of my Author's Notes. I settled on Blogger, since I already have a Google account.
I have purposefully enable anonymous comments, i.e., you can leave a comment without logging in, even without having a Google account. Of course, you'll need to go past the reCAPTCHA anti-spam feature, but I think that's a minor inconvenience compared to spam attacks.
So, here's to a long and fun interaction between us all!
